It has been a crazy and busy past few weeks at work. My 'special area' kids have been out of control. Plain and simple - out. of. control. That's a story for another day. My reading kiddos on the other hand have been pretty good. And I'm starting to get some good stories.
1. Author's Purpose - all of them can tell you the 3 reasons authors write. Awesome!
2. One of my kids was in another class and went on a little soap box about author's purpose. Even better!
3. When talking about author's opinion, yours truly created a worksheet which talked about different opinions on wearing uniforms. The first paragraph said that a uniform would be instituted starting next quarter. About 10 minutes pass by and I see that one student isn't completing anything. I walk up to the student and question why the paper is blank. Apparently this poor small (well, not-so-small) student was stuck on the idea of having to wear uniforms next quarter. Hello! I explained that! Its sooooo not true. Made up! Wow!
Year 6 is certainly interesting. The staff is for another day.

Holy Moly!
Wow! So time has floooown by, and I haven't had time to catch up apparently!
In the past many months:
- finished last grad classes!! Thesis research starts this week :)
- started a new school
- took a few trips
- lived a little :)
School has been going pretty good, its back to the daily grind of interesting children. First day required me to have a talkin' to with 1 child, and almost with a few others. I have 35 kids in two of my classes, its like herding wild animals after lunch. Its insane! Luckily I have the grrrr look, and that's been helpful :) Some interesting names, I wish I could list them! Lots of reciting the Serenity prayer, and looking to vent to a few friends daily.
So yes, here's to Year 6!

Blog?
So while I don't live the most exciting life ever, there are some things that I want to be able to look back on and giggle, know I've learned from, and cross off my bucket list! I also was talking with some co-workers and decided that after 4 and a half years of teaching, its about time that I start recording some things that happen throughout my day! So... we'll see where this goes! Here's to 2011 :)
